Well. here's my two cents on the Segway scooter. I think it's a brilliant device that will likely be very successful in the business market it's targeting intially (the postal service, parks service, etc.). But I don't see it being big in the consumer market until it drops to a few hundred bucks. I agree with what seems to be the general sentiment that it's too expensive and too heavy. I also can't see people using it for many of the things it's being marketed for. When I walk around town or go to the mall, I usually end up with a load of bags and get a taxi home - it doesn't look liked you'd be able to carry much on a Segway. And, as other's have said, most people aren't going to want to leave it on the sidewalk when they go into a store.

Still, I think the general idea is great. If it cost $500, weighed ten or fifteen pounds and could be folded up and be worn like a backpack, I'd buy one immediately and use it everyday.
